Time to Ground the Jets: Eagles Head to MetLife
What was supposed to be a really tough match up, is now a very winnable game for the Birds. This Sunday they have the Jets at MetLife. Before the season, a lot of fans (including myself) had this game with a question mark on it. Aaron Rodgers with some good talent at WR and a stud defense proved to be challenging. Now it’s Zach Wilson and a defense that surely is getting sick of losing. Sure, he looked good against the Chiefs but its still Zach Wilson, the rabid Eagles defensive line will have to get whatever they want, as long as the secondary doesn’t let up anything silly.
The electric offense we saw last year looks to be making its return. Bryan Johnson is getting comfortable and confident with his play calls. My only concern right now is treating D’Andre Swift as a primary ball carrier. He’s proven through multiple weeks that he can break huge runs so we need to feed him as much as we can. This weekend, I’m looking for an all around type of performance from every facet of the offense.
There’s an aura around the Eagles lately, like they’ve woken up and things are starting to lay out for them this season. The Dolphins looked beatable against the Giants as Tua threw a pick-six and had a couple turnovers. The Chiefs don’t look like the regular dominant Chiefs. The Bills got beat by a reeling Jags team. The Cowboys stink as usual (insert fart sounds.) I have a great feeling about this year, just get me to the playoffs so I can either party in Mayfair or throw myself off the Benny Frank.
