Eagles Blow Lead That Made The Phillies Bullpen Look Good

Just how they drew it up right? Spot the Washington Football Team 17-0 lead & blew the lead harder than the Phillies bullpen right? If you chose that script you would be a millionaire right now.

The Eagles got out to a 17-0 lead against the Washington Football Team in the first 25-minutes of the 2020 season. But, over the final 35 minutes, the Eagles forgot how to play the game of football. A game that we should be talking about a 1-0 Eagles team.

Instead, we are now trying to find any bit of hope in this Eagles team. A team that started a guy at LT that wanted more money to play there. Two guys making their first career starts at RG & RT. And, a defense that yet again continues to not know how to make a stop on 3rd & mid.

One of the bigger issues on the day was Carson Wentz. Who looked like 2017 Carson Wentz for the first 25-minutes of the game. But, then turned into a player I don’t think Carson even knows. Throwing 2-interceptions and losing a fumble in the latter half of the Eagles loss.

But, one clear & obvious stat that still continues to plague Carson Wentz & the offense is the run game. A run game that only produced 57-yards today. In which, when the run game fails to break 100 yards, Wentz is now 2-15.

Today was an utter embarrassment for a team that should have won. A team that looked like they were going to blow out the Washington Football Team. But, fell victim to a Philadelphia sports trend right now of blowing big leads. Blowing a 17-0 lead today that made the Phillies awful bullpen look good today.
