As NBA Return Nears, Sixers Championship Odds Continue To Improve
When the Philadelphia Sixers season was halted due to Covid-19, the team was in a down-spiral. Morale was low and it looked like a fitting ending to a season marked by injuries & chaos.
On March 11, the Sixers beat the Detroit Pistons at the Wells Fargo Center. A game where the Sixers were missing star Ben Simmons & both newly acquired shooters Alec Burks & Glenn Robinson III.
The next day, the NBA season was halted with the Sixers odds at +3800 to win the NBA Championship.
After starting the season with the 5th best odds, the Sixers entered the halt with the 11th best odds. But, did that change over the halt?
“The Sixers are one of the few teams who could really benefit from the break in the NBA season. They’ve arrived in Orlando fully refreshed and focused on the task ahead.” – Oddschecker Pete Watt
With the extra time to rest & get healthy, the Sixers now enter the NBA restart with the 7th best odds, +2800, to win the NBA Championship.
During the NBA halt, the 2019-2020 Sixers have gotten healthy & look like the team that NBA bettors believed they were supposed to be pre-season.
“A fully-fit & rested Joel Embiid is going to be a big problem for any opponent & he’ll be able to help create mismatches. He’s put in work during the downtime, with some reports saying he’s in the best shape of his career. Tobias Harris has been praising how good it’s been to have everybody together again, and if the team spirit is right, and Embiid is at his best then their odds of +2800 – which puts them seventh-favorite on the list – will start to look extremely appealing.” – Oddschecker Pete Watt
It is basically a new season in Orlando for the 2020 NBA Championship. If you believed in the Sixers during the lead-up to the season, the odds are in your favor now. With the additions of Glenn Robinson III & Alec Burks to the bench, it only improves what people believed the Sixers could do pre-season.
Buckle up Sixers fans. If the Sixers regain that pre-season magic, the title is there for the taking in Orlando.
