Eagles Remain Betting Favorite While Dallas Gains Narrow Odds Favorite

The Philadelphia Eagles enter the 2020 season as the NFC East title holders after they won it with a perfect 4-0 December.

However, in 2020, oddsmakers don’t seem to be backing the title holding Eagles.

In newly released odds, per oddschecker, the Dallas Cowboys have edged ahead of the Eagles after the two were even odds contenders. The Dallas Cowboys are now +100 favorites to win the NFC East.

TEAM ODDS % OF BETS
Dallas Cowboys +100 38%
Philadelphia Eagles +140 47%
New York Giants +900 6%
Washington Redskins +1500 9%

This change was somewhat expected. The NFC East hasn’t had a repeat champion since the Eagles won 4-straight from 2001-2004. Making each season a three-horse race & slightly easier to predict.

However, while the Cowboys pulled ahead in odds, the Eagles still remain where the money is being bet.

While the Eagles have the 2nd best odds to win the NFC East, they remain the betting favorite. With 47% of all bets taking the Eagles to win the NFC East.

“In Carson Wentz, the Eagles possess the only QB in the league to throw a touchdown in every game of last season and he’ll be looking to match that this year. Couple that with an exciting rookie class and it’s clear to see why plenty think that the Eagles are a good bet for the NFC East.”  – Oddschecker Pete Watt

Is this the year the NFC East has a repeat champion? While odds makers say no, sports bettors say yes.
