BREAKING NEWS : OSKAR LINDBLOM RETURNS TO ICE IN VOORHEES
Philadelphia Flyers forward, Oskar Lindblom, who has been getting treatments for ewing Sarcoma, made a surprise appearance today in Voorhees. But, it wasn’t his normal stop by and say hello to his teammates & coaches.
No. Instead, Oskar skated in one of the Flyers 6-man workouts allowed in phrase 2 of the NHL Return To Play agreement. Taking another big step in his recovery.
However, before we get too excited, its only skating. While this is another huge step in Oskar’s recovery, he is not expected to lace up his skates in the orange & black until next season at the earliest.
After skating for about 40 minutes, Oskar exited the ice and talked to Flyers PR guru Zach Hill.
During his talk, Zach said Oskar told him his treatments are going great and that he does not have many left & will be done soon. Oskar said he can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
A light that many believe is the finishing line to his cancer treatment and the hopeful end & defeat to his ewing Sarcoma.
Oskar went on to talk about that he is one of the better cases. Stating “people that have it worse, I can’t complain. I’m happy to be where I am right now.”
It is truly amazing to see Oskar where he is today. After his treatments are over & he beats this, Oskar is ready to get back to his life before ewing Sarcoma. “Can’t wait to get back with the team & play some hockey again. That will be unreal, to get back to real life again and have some fun.”
