Eagles Prioritize Athleticism & Versatility With Defense Picks

Two positions the Eagles needed to address were safety & linebacker. With the 103rd & 127th picks, the Eagles did just that. Focusing on two players that are athletic freaks & very versatile.

With the 103rd pick, the Eagles selected LB/S Davion Taylor out of Colorado.

Taylor is a very interesting pick because he is so raw. Having only played football since he was 18 due to his religious views. But, what the Eagles are getting in Taylor is a hard-hitting, fast, versatile LB that can be a dynamic piece in the middle of the field.

Should start out being a very good special teamer for the Eagles. But, in 2-3 years, could be a very good linebacker.

With the 127th pick, the Eagles selected S/DB K’Von Wallace out of Clemson.

Wallace is a swiss-army knife according to his head coach at Clemson, Dabo Swinney. For Swinney at Clemson, Wallace was used in every defense position except defensive line. What the Eagles are getting is Wallace is a versatile safety that can cover the slot, but also give you coverage across the middle. Very similar to what Malcolm Jenkins did for the Eagles.

Don’t need to be reminded of the last safety the Eagles took out of Clemson, think he turned out ok. Wallace will look to be the next great success out of Clemson for the Eagles.
