Jump on the Flyers Bandwagon, Philly Fans, There’s Plenty of Room

Back in November, I wrote for this site that Philadelphia needed to start paying attention to the Flyers.  They were off to a very good start to the season and I felt as though they were getting lost in the shuffle with the Eagles and 76ers seasons in full swing.

Now that the Eagles are done, the Phillies just starting spring training and the 76ers seemingly in total dysfunction, it is time for everyone to jump on board the Flyers bandwagon.

There is plenty of room too.

This team has been the surprise of the NHL season so far.  At the beginning of the season, most thought that they may contend for a second wild card spot but would probably be on the outside looking in.  Few, if any, picked them to be a playoff team and that is exactly the spot they are in now.

Only 3 points behind the Penguins for second place in the Metropolitan division, this season has been one of revelations for the Flyers.  Alain Vigneault was the absolute right choice to be the coach.  Travis Konecny and Sean Couturier have proven to be star players that are the building blocks of the offense for years to come.  Ivan Provorov has become the number one defenseman fans thought he could be and the rest of the young defensemen such as Sanheim and Myers have stepped up and become strong compliments to veterans like Matt Niskanen and Justin Braun.

Most importantly, Carter Hart has solidified his status as the Flyers goalie of the future.  He has become everything that we have wanted him to become and more and this team is gelling at the right time on their push towards the playoffs.

So Philadelphia, it’s time to get on board.  The Wells Fargo should be rocking for the orange and black every night like it does for the 76ers.  The Flyers have far surpassed expectations this year and they deserve our full support from here on out.

Don’t be afraid.  Climb on and hold on tight.  The Flyers are getting ready to take us on one hell of a ride.
