Sixers Acquire Glenn Robinson III & Alec Burks, But Wait Maybe More?

Sixers GM Elton Brand was up late Wednesday night wheeling and dealing looking to improve his Sixers before the NBAs trade deadline Thursday afternoon.

A little after midnight, Brand struck a deal with the Golden State Warriors for starting wing Glenn Robinson III & role player Alec Burks. Both are welcomed additions to a weak Sixers bench. The Warriors will receive three second round picks in the deal. (2020 second-round via Dallas, 2021 second-round pick via Denver, 2022 second-round pick via Toronto)

Glenn Robinson III has started all 48 games this season for Golden State. Brought in to replace the injured Klay Thompson for the 2019-2020 season, Robinson worked himself into a key role with the Warriors. A role that got even bigger with a long-term injury to Steph Curry.

For the season, Robinson III is averaging 12.9PPG, 1.8AST, 4.7REB in about 32 minutes a night and will bring an 40% average from 3-point range with him to the Sixers.

Alec Burks has played in all 48 games this season for the Golden State Warriors. Starting in 18 of those games. Burks was a key swing player for the Warriors. His normal workload of 26-30 minutes would increase to 34-36 minutes in the absence of DeAngelo Russell in the Warriors lineup.

For the season, Burks is averaging 16.1PPG, 3.1AST, 4.7REB in about 29 minutes a night and will bring an 37.5% average from 3-point range with him to the Sixers.

However, the Sixers may not be done with just these two.

According to ESPNs Adrian Wojnarowski, the Sixers are still very active looking for more additions to the roster.

The Sixers will look a lot different when they take the Friday at the Wells Fargo Center. Don’t expect Robinson III, Burks, or anyone else the Sixers acquire to be available til Friday.
