NICK WHO: The Dumbest Headline Anybody Could’ve Written
I really thought today was going to be a great day, laughing at the Max Kellerman’s of the world who refuse to acknowledge Carson Wentz as the elite quarterback that he is. Finally, we could have peace in the Philadelphia sports media world, no more arguing over Carson Wentz. Turns out I had too much faith in this city. While scrolling the timeline this afternoon I saw a copy of the Daily News cover, NICK WHO?: Wentz Proves He Can Win a Big Game, Too.
"NICK WHO?"
An early look at the back page of the #Philadelphia Daily News (@PhillyDailyNews @PhillyInquirer

Are we seriously going to do this shit again? Carson Wentz just won, what many have called the biggest game of his career, against our most hated rival with a group of practice squad receivers and an actual news outlet thought “Hey let’s make this about Nick Foles”.
First off, are we just going to forget Wentz’s 2017 season, going into LA and beating a very talented Rams team to secure a 1st round bye. What about week 4 when the Eagles went into Lambeau on a Thursday night and beat the Packers, guess both those games meant nothing. That part of the headline is absolutely idiotic but my bigger issue with this is why are we still comparing Carson Wentz to Nick Foles. Carson has put this team on his back and in prime position for a division title and their are still some morons out there who want to do the Foles vs Wentz song and dance.
This city’s media and part of the fanbase has made it out like you have to be a Nick guy or a Carson guy. Nick Foles is forever a hero in Philadelphia but Carson is our quarterback now and deserves all the love and praise we’ve given Nick over the years. It’s really not that hard to understand but some members of the media continue to bring up Foles’s name everytime Carson takes a breath. Are we still going to be having this debate 5 years from now, “Through his first 9 seasons Carson Wentz has yet to have a 7 touchdown game, were the Eagles wrong in letting Foles go?” It’s ridiculous that this storyline is still used by the media when it seems pretty obvious at this point Wentz was the right choice to put the future of the franchise in. We can still love our favorite big dick swinging Nick Foles without bringing him up everytime Carson Wentz does something.
Alright, enough negativity for the biggest victory Monday of the year, let’s go win the damn thing Sunday. Go Birds.
