Nick Foles Gets Benched As Eagles Fans Yell “We shoulda Kept Foles!”

While the Eagles were in the midst of their most humiliating loss in years, Nick Foles wasn’t having the best day in Jacksonville either.

In just his fourth start for the Jaguars this season, Nicki Sixx turned the ball over on the first three possessions and went only 7 for 14 for 93 passing yards.

This prompted head coach Doug Marrone to bench him in the 2nd half for rookie fan favorite Gardner Minshew II. And just today Marrone announced that Minshew will be starting again next week, possibly ending the Foles era in Jacksonville before it ever really began.

While plenty of obnoxious fans loudly stated that the Eagles should trade Wentz and keep Foles, most Eagle fans were satisfied with him leaving going to the Jaguars. He got to sign a big free agent contract to become a full-time starter on a small-market AFC team. The same team that almost played against him in Super Bowl LII (and pretty much got hosed) signed him in an attempt to rekindle that fiery 2017 team.

Three quarters into the season and that attempt has already fallen apart. Jacksonville traded their disgruntled and elite diva cornerback Jalen Ramsey their “fanbase” has fallen in love with their mustached rookie sensation who rivals Mark Brunell and The BOAT as the most popular quarterback in team history.

Considering how much they are paying him, it will be very tough for Jacksonville to get rid of BDN and his big contract, the best case scenario will be a trade for a team in win-now mode that needs a quarterback. Just when people thought he had a steady job and position with a team, Nick Foles’s future is back up in smoke as it seems to have always been for his entire career.

It’s amazing to think that Nick Foles got booed off the field in Jacksonville despite being one of only two former living Eagles who are 1000% immune to getting booed by Philly fans (B-Dawk being the other of course.)

Despite being one of the worst quarterbacks of 2019, plenty of Birds fans would still love to have him this December considering how good he played for them during that time last season.

Foles’s unexpected relief appearance a year ago turned what had been a complete disaster of a season into a rebirth of hope and excitement, taking us nearly all the way back to the NFC title game in magical run only topped by the previous season.

This year, it looks like Carson Wentz is going to continue to be under center for the Eagles in what was thought to be important division games into sad pointless ones thanks to the team’s unmitigated disaster of a game against Miami. Either that or we can have some fun with 40 year old Josh McCown.

Or better yet, we can sign Ryan Fitzpatrick to the squad next year just so we don’t have to see him play against the Eagles!
