It’s an Embarrassment to be an Eagles Fan Today
This isn’t a blog, this is a rant on what a shit show the Philadelphia Eagles are right now. And if you are reading this, you probably aren’t looking for correct grammar or hard hitting analysis of the All 22 from this game against the Dolphins. You just want to vent about how OUR Philadelphia Eagles went up against a team who is trying to lose…and let them win.
Two crucial stretches in this game that led to the loss. Zach Ertz drops a pass inside the 5 yard line. Next play, offensive line gets mixed up on coverage and Wentz gets sacked. It leads to a longer field goal, the field goal is missed. The Dolphins get good field position out of it. The Dolphins score. In that sequence, every single unit that makes up the Eagles made crucial mistakes. You can’t point to one person today, they all played (and coached) like shit.
The next sequence that killed them was the end of the game after they were down 9. Why the hell wouldn’t you kick a field goal before the two minute warning?! You basically wasted that timeout by kicking on the other side of the two minute warning. It cost them about 40 seconds worth of game time. After the Ertz dropped touchdown (great game, Zach) they should’ve just kicked. It’s absolute stupidity and piss poor game management.
Both of those sequences showed a lack of attention to detail which plagues this team every week. The worst part is, they aren’t dead and control their own playoff destiny. Right now, this team is like a deer that got hit by a car and survived. Yes they are still alive, but what’s the quality of life at this point.
This loss is more infuriating than any loss this year because there are no excuses. They were finally close to healthy, and they were the more talented team. They lost because of effort and execution, three days after their division rival lost and they would’ve been tied for first place. Where is the hunger or desire?!
Fuck this team from the bottom of my heart. This is the most embarrassed I’ve ever been as a philly fan. We were on the other side of that tanking. We watched a team win 10 games, trying to lose on purpose. It’s nowhere near as horrible as losing to the tanker.
Every single coach and player should walk and home and don’t look in any mirrors on the way, you’ll see a pathetic reflection. But I want to single out two people in particular before we wrap this rant up:
Zach Ertz- Yeah Zach Ertz dropped two crucial catches and we probably win if he catches it but at least he looks good in his Visa commercial! Wasn’t that so cute? At least somebody in that relationship didn’t rest on one championship victory.
And Jalen Mills! Every week he tweets and asks fans to vote for him for the pro bowl. Should we still do that Jalen even though you got burnt every play?! These guys are fucking pathetic. They are coasting off a result from two years ago and forgot what got them there.
That being said, hey, they can win out and win the division still! Hooray!
