There May Be the Tiniest of Silver Linings in the Eagles Pathetic Loss to the Cowboys
Pretty much everyone at this point as seen Silver Linings Playbook. What a great flick and not just because the Eagles actually beat Dallas in that one.
Almost a decade after its release, the movie still holds relevance because of Bradley Cooper’s character constant clinging to the mantra of “excelsior”. Finding a underlying positive during a time of negatives.
Well, I think I’ve found the silver lining during the Eagles drubbing at the hands of the Cowboys last night: the Nelson Agholor era should officially be wrapping up.
Of all the pathetic/embarrassing moments of Nelson Agholor’s Eagles career, this was by far the worst:

Whether it be due to his lack of production, mental mistakes, or just boneheaded “WTF” moments, it is clear his time is (rightfully) up.
Adam Schefter reported on Sunday that the Denver Broncos have begun fielding calls for the likes of Emmanuel Sanders and Chris Harris. While Eagles fans may prefer the latter, no arguments here if you do, the former would give this bland offense a shot in the arm.
Emmanuel Sanders is exactly what the Eagles hoped Nelson Agholor would pan out to be. Now that it is evident that won’t happen, the Eagles will have to sacrifice a 3rd round pick at the very least to get the real Sanders and rid us of this Great Value version that’s been running around here.
You can point to numerous issues with the Eagles right now, but the biggest is they simply have no life, no matter who is on the field. At the very least, pulling the trigger on Emmanuel Sanders would give the team a shot in the arm while bolstering a receiving core who has clearly underperformed.
At this point in the season, the movie is going to play out one way or another for me: either the Eagles are going to beat the Cowboys at the end, or I’m going to do a stunt in a mental institution.
