Doug Pederson Came Out Swingin’ For the Start of Dallas Week
Doug Pederson hopped on the WIP Morning Show this morning to face the music regarding his teams underwhelming performance against the Vikings. Despite the huge loss, Pederson was pretty positive, going as far as to say this:
“We’re going to beat Dallas, our guys are gonna be ready to play. And we’re gonna win that football game and when we do we’re in first place in the NFC East, we control our own destiny, we’re right where we need to be. Has it been perfect or beautiful or all of that? NO. But all we need to do is be 1-0 this week , beat the Dallas Cowboys, we’re in first place” – Doug Pederson, WIP Morning Show
Wow, that is pretty eye opening considering Sidney Jones and Rasul Douglas are the Nick Pivetta and Vince Velasquez of cornerbacks!
Here’s one thing about these type of comments: when people like Zach Brown (Jackass of the week) and Kamu-Grugier Hill makes comments like this, I want to rip my own hair out (and theirs). When Doug Pederson says something of this nature, I perk up and listen.
Despite the early season struggles, we as a fan base still have confidence and respect for Pederson. So, when he comes out and tells the public, hey we’re going to beat this team, it’s showtime. When this teams back is against the wall, the sky is falling and the apocalypse is near, they play their best ball.
One distinct difference in the upcoming matchup? The Eagles locker room respects Doug Pederson. When he says something like this, they’ll listen. I’m not sure I can say the same for Jason Garrett right now.
Any rivalry game between the Cowboys and Eagles is always entertaining but this one will be a little extra enticing with the division on the line. We’ve got a classic case of a stoppable force meeting a moveable object. Should be a good one!
