In Retrospect, Maybe the Eagles Should Have Caught the Ball More Often

I’m not one of those guys that likes to give hot takes for the sake of hot takes. Some people try to say things to get a rise out of people but when I give a take I truly mean it. With that being said, what I’m about to say might be a little controversial but I don’t think I’m alone in saying that the Eagles receivers should have caught the ball more instead of dropping it yesterday.

Now, now, before you start calling me “outrageous” and “ridiculous” I think it would’ve really changed the outcome of that game. The birds had 8(!) dropped passes on Sunday. There could be more, I lost track while flipping furniture in my house. Jordan Howard, Miles Sanders (who also had two fumbles), J.J. Arcega Whiteside, Goedert, Ertz, Agholor (who had a drop pass/fumble hybrid), Mack Hollins, there are probably more but I think you get the idea. We also had 3 offensive pass interference penalties, which up until yesterday I wasn’t even sure was a plausible thing that could happen in a game. That’s two straight games where we have dropped game winning passes. From 3-0 to 1-2 because guys saw the ball, looked at it and went “nah”. I think this Thursday Carson might just have to run QB screen passes to himself all game.

Wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility since Wentz has also emerged as our best defensive player as well.
