Win or Lose, the Eagles Might Be the Ballsiest Team in the NFL
It was a valiant effort but overall tough night on Sunday for Carson Wentz. While his wideouts were getting waled on, the winsome Wentz winced whenever he threw, and when Wentz winces, we all wince with him. Visibly in pain, it was clear he needed a reprieve from the shit pumping the falcons D-line was handing him every chance they got. He came out in the second quarter because any man with his injury history needs to sit out and put his career first before one game right?… Wrong!
He was back in four plays after sitting out from taking a police brutality level hit to the ribs that landed him following a finger in the concussion tent.
Carson Wentz just 6-15, 47 yards, 2 INTs. QB Rating 8.9
Something is not right with him. He is way off on his throws. Maybe from this hit earlier?#Eagles

Every time he got hit, he fought through traffic to get a throw off. There were at least four moments when he should’ve been sacked but made something happen, including the highlight of the night
… How in the world did Carson Wentz complete a pass on this play??

You can put the Andrew Luck retirement comparisons to rest. Wentz is gonna do something with the ball, or he’s going to die trying. Honestly, that might be the way he wants to go out before ascending to the heavens.
Now when a star player has that kind of attitude, you need a coach that checks his worst impulses. Keeps him safe and what not. Surely coach Pederson would try to protect his most valuable asset, right?… wrong again!
Doug doesn’t give a fuck about any risk ever! All he sees is rewards. No coach goes for it more on 4th down since he came into the league. He doesn’t see a FG as gaining 3 points, but as losing 4. You don’t beat Belicheck in the Super Bowl by not straying too far from the sidewalk. And now that he has that feather in his cap, he has all the more confidence in letting it ride every chance he gets. In Week 1, the announcers didn’t even question whether Doug was going for it on his side of the 50. Inside the five on Sunday, there was just no way he was going to kick a field goal (it resulted in a Nelson Agholor score).
Carson wasn’t the only one who had a rough go of it on Sunday as Ronald Darby, Eagles CB and human toast, suffered from several third degree burns at the hands of the falcons wide receivers.

Now in his defense, Darby was put on an island by himself against one of, if not the best receiving core for most of the game. He may be 100% healthy but he isn’t 100% conditioned. There is a difference. It’s alright though because Jim Schwartz will adjust to help his guy out right?… once again, wrong as can be.
He’s been playing man on man with no safety help a LOT in these first two games. Oh what’s that? You need help covering Julio Jones? Well go cry me a god damn river because we’re sending the safeties on this next one so you better sack up. Even on the 4th & 3 play that led to a Julio game-clincher, it’s hard to blame Schwartz. He was trying to win the game right then and there. The Falcons just made a smart call with the game on the line for the first time against us in three years.
Some of this may sound negative but I’d rather lose giving 110% than 90%. You play to win the game. We’re an Agholor dropped pass away from being 2-0 and having no doubts at all. So, if we’re gonna lose, it won’t be from playing scared.
