The Phillies are Officially on Swag Watch After Last Night

The life was gone from this team. They were dead behind the eyes while putting on a happy face. The season was pronounced dead (by me but also others probably).

Then something happened maybe.

They fire hitting coach John Mallee.

They hire Charlie Manuel as his replacement. You may have heard of him.

They put up 11 against the Cubs in the skipper’s first game back, eight off Cole Hamels, with two Harper bombs.

Then the (possible but not likely but maybe) turning point in the 2019 season happened. The Phillies cap a 5-0 late innings comeback to complete the sweep on a waLK OFF BRYCE HARPER GRAND SLAM!!!!!!1!!!!!!

Easily one of the greatest moments I’ve seen as a Phillies fan, no, as a sports fan. The electricity radiating from the field, through my TV, into my body was like nothing I’ve ever felt before.

And with that I think I’m ready to say I’m almost ready to consider being back in on this team.

I’ve been saying all season that this team doesn’t really have the JUICE that championship teams have but after last night I don’t know if I was entirely right.

The looks on the faces of the players in the 400 pictures that came out just seem different. Excited but also like there’s a new fire building somewhere in there. Eye of the tiger????

If they can continue Hittin’ SZN and being a happy go lucky positive team then there’s no reason a playoff spot can’t be a possibility and who knows what’s possibly with momentum headed into the playoffs.

So keep the Phil’s on swagger watch. Make sure they can keep up the hype they have and ride that summbitch to October.
