A New Team and Tobias Harris Reportedly Are Playing the “Mutual Interest” Game

At this point, it would be easier to mentioned the teams who DON’T have interest in Tobias Harris this summer.

There are a dangerous amount of mid-level to flat out sucky teams that are willing to pay Tobias Harris MAX money this offseason. I hate it. It is really ruining the Run It Back campaign. I get more worried by the day, as we creep closer to June 30th, that Tobias will not be on the roster next year.
The Jazz, Mavs and Nets have all expressed interest (that appears to be mutual) in Harris. This Nets news is not surprising given their abundance of cap space and desperation to make a splash. It’ll be interesting to see how they handle Tobias though. They clearly want KD. Things with Kyrie seem to be getting serious. Not sure how they play those sweepstakes while also juggling landing B-listers like Tobi.
If Tobias does indeed leave us with the fleeting memory of him airballing a wide open 3 late in Game 4 where we could’ve taken a commanding 3-1 lead, I just have one request for all parties involved:
The Sixers and Raptors rosters of this year meet in a winner take all, no camera game…cornfield style like in the finale of Blue Mountain State.
As far as pipe dreams go, if the Nets use their 2 max slots on Tobias and Kyrie. D Lo, come on down to Philadelphia. Former high school teammates D’Angelo Russell and Ben Simmons would be a nightly SHOW. Unfortunately, someone has informed me this would not work with D Lo, only Tobias due to “Bird Right’s”. Seems a little suspect to me, I may need to go toe to toe on bird law in order to keep this D Lo dream alive.
