Bankrupt the Bookie Volume 6: Conference Tourney Double Down

After an unreal day of gambling yesterday, I feel morally obligated to run it back. I walked out of work yesterday with more gambling money than I made hourly. Runs like this are why we play. Scared money don’t make money.

Once again we have three of the Big 5 schools playing on the same day. La Salle was thrown into the woodchipper by Rhode Island, we had URI spread. Villanova handled Providence at Madison Square and St. Joes took a lead at the Barclays Center and never looked back to an easy over cover. Gambling is so easy Lets keep going.

First Big 5 school to play is St. Joe’s against the second best team in the A10 conference, Davidson. Tip off is at 6pm and the spread opened at -6. St. Joes beat Davidson once this season and then lost by 8 points later in the year. Phil Martelli told the boys to be prepared to play Friday before yesterday’s game so this was expected of the Hawks. They shot the three ball great in their last game against the Dukes and Charlie Brown Jr can ball. I really think they can keep this game close and at +6 point dogs they are a steal. Take St. Joes spread at +6.

Next we have Villanova up against Xavier with an opening line of -6.5. Game starts at 6:30. I said it yesterday and I’ll say it again today, the Big East tournament is where Nova gets hot. Right now I think they feel disrespected by their #25 ranking as the defending champs. I think they run right through the Big East and Xavier does not have the talent to outshoot Nova. The Musketteers were lucky to hand Nova an L three weeks ago but it won’t happen this time. Take Villanova and the -6.5 spread.

Last Big 5 game tips off at 9pm as Temple takes on Wichita State as a -2.5 point favorite. I refuse to believe that in Frans last season they would lose first game of the conference tournament. That being said this line is very low so the over at 139.5 looks more profitable. Both teams are great at scoring and with a tight game we should cover the over. Take it at over 139.5 and grab an extra drink at the bar tonight cause that pick is straight cash.

Now let’s get to the money pick. Just one today because i’m a little stitious. I will be going with WVU as +10.5 dogs against the Kansas Jayhawks. Tipoff is at 9:30pm so this is another free drink bet. I had WVU +14.5 against Texas Tech yesterday and I was never once worried about not winning. Bob Hugins has had a terrible regular season but his team has started to pick it up as of late. This is a great example of how dangerous these conference tournaments are. Any team can win and the hot team usually does. The Mountaineers want to keep playing through March. I think they cover here and they may just even win outright. Take the spread at +10.5.
