Howie Roseman is in His Bag of Tricks Again

There is no doubt in my mind that Howie got a bit jealous of all the moves other GMs in the city were making. This is usually HIS show. Gotta admit as Philadelphians we may have gotten caught up in Elton forming a super team or Klentak inking a once in a generational type talent to a decade plus. Howie was probably sitting on an island somewhere in the Mediterranean (or a hotel in Indianapolis) plotting on how to take back the city. Who can blame him, the man brought us our first Lombardi.

For the past week, it seems like everyday someone on the Birds is getting an extension or restructuring a contract for cap purposes. Seumalo got a fresh three year extension, Kelce will be playing for another year and Lane is only gonna cost 805K against the cap with his restructure. Howie created over eight million on Lanes deal alone! They are basically circumventing the salary cap by giving the player money he is owed in the form of a bonus instead of salary. The wizard is scheming up some master plan to take us back to the Super Bowl. I just know it. Luckily, the league year starts March 13th at 4pm so by this time next week there might be a few different players in midnight green.

Now, before you google the available free agents and ultimately cream your pants, let’s be clear that this team needs a running back. The past 2 years have been fine with the committee of 3-4 backs when everyone is healthy…which was only like 60% of the time. I can’t do it anymore. Find me someone Howie, I don’t care if its Carlos Hyde or Duke Johnson just give me someone who I can count on for more than 8 weeks sporadically throughout the season.

Whatever happens I still have complete faith in Howie. It would take some really dumb moves for me to turn against him. I think he has something big planned and I doubt it includes either former Steeler so put that rumor to bed. Howie is a wizard and all we can do is sit back and grab the popcorn. This is Howie SZN.
