“I Do Think the Eagles Are Going to Get One of These Two Steelers Players”
“I don’t think it’s going to be a very robust market for Bell. I do think the Eagles are going to get one of these two Steelers players, I think they are going to get Antonio Brown or Le’Veon Bell.” – Jason La Canfora, CBS Insider
If you read the headline and saw the picture and immediately said “NO”, I stand with you. I needed your click, but you are a smart person for brushing this quote off.
Over the past few months and really the past year, Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell have been in full sabotage mode. They careened their markets, demanded trades, sat out games while healthy, took to Twitter to lambaste their teammates and coaches, and Brown even made a cameo as a masked singing hippopotamus a few days after sitting out the last game of the year while “injured”.
As a Pennsylvania resident, I have always respected Pittsburgh and the “Steeler Way” because I grew up watching that franchise win. These two clowns have made an absolute mockery of that proud franchise and I don’t know why other front offices would want to touch them with a ten foot pole. If Hollywood green lighted a football movie with a diva wide receiver character, and that character did everything Antonio Brown did this past year, I’d say it was unrealistic and they were overdoing it. Bell is like if they kept following Boobie Miles from Friday Night Lights and he made it to the NFL. They are the worsttttt *Jean Ralphio voice*.
I’m not even going to get into salary cap implications and the draft picks the Eagles would have to give up for Brown because I think that lowly of those two players. Le’Veon Bell (is delusional) and wants $50M his first two years under contract. Nobody is giving him that but especially not the cash strapped Eagles who have a franchise quarterback to extend.
I’m all in on trying to get Jay Ajayi back on a one year “prove it” deal after his injury. If you pick up Nelson’s Agholor $9M cap hit that’s alright I guess. Hopefully Golden Tate comes back on a minimal deal. But, don’t you dare bring that circus to the other side of the state.
