College Football Showed All Its Pros and Cons This Past Bowl Season

Now that the high of the Bears double doink  has worn off (somewhat) and the Sixers film meeting drama is over, I had time to reflect on what a crazy week or so of college football it really was. Here are some of the highlights now that the National Championship has concluded:

Notre Dame Was So Disrespectful to Their Fans:

I am here to request an apology for ND fans, many of which I consider friends. Their teams performance was so pathetic. It was rude to give the fans false hope like that. If they would just join a conference (preferably the ACC), they could get their ass kicked by Clemson in the first week of December instead of the last. Making them wait the whole month and giving them this belief they could hang with an actual good football team was cruel. It’s been a tough year for Catholics. There isn’t a church around where the kids weren’t getting touched. All they had was that football team, and they let the fans down. So many kids who are ND fans wished for a win over Clemson for Christmas. They probably said, “Dad, why didn’t Santa bring a win? Why did we get blown out?” And the kids dad had to say, “because son, Santa is a fraud…just like our football team”.

Just Expand the CFP to 8 Teams Already:

The NCAA is always about making money for everyone involved (except the players). So, make two more meaningful games, and you make more money. If you’re pissed about kids sitting out games, give them a reason to actually play. No one can look me dead in the eyes and truthfully say they cared about the Peach Bowl. Same can be said for the Sugar Bowl.

Speaking of the Sugar Bowl…What a Mascot Mash-Up:

When that Bevo mascot attacked that little ass Uga dog, I thought it was a goner. Georgia was one of the 4 best teams in the country, but at that moment, I would’ve bet an obscene amount of money on Texas. I guess the fallout has been that PETA is trying to retire the mascots. I would venture to guess there are a lot members of PETA who are also members of the Westboro Baptist Church.

Manny Diaz.

Fuck man, we at Temple are left at the alter again. We are the girl who hasn’t grown into our body just yet and the boys are all leaving us for the prettier girls in high school. One day we’re gonna mature physically and all the boys will be sick they missed out on this.

I don’t hate the player, I hate the game. He can go back to Miami, it’s his dream job. I get it. But it’s a real crime that coaches can up and leave whenever they want (17 days in this case!) but players would have to sit out a year. Also an apology for leaving so abruptly would’ve been nice.

It’s Fun to See Alabama Get Its Ass Kicked

I went into this year’s National Championship just happy to enjoy football without being on the verge of a heart attack like Eagles games. Maybe it was a blowout because my heart needs a full week to recover until we play the Saints. Had a weird Clemson feeling. Had a weird feeling that Parkey kick was not going in. Hoping for more feelings going our way.

So that’s pretty much a wrap on the college football season. Figured we put some content out before it’s too late. Way too much Philly sports content to pass up in these next few weeks.
