The Cowboys Beat the Saints Because Of Course
You remember that Eagles game last year against the Seahawks in Seattle on Sunday Night Football? The Eagles had looked unstoppable in weeks prior, but that night, everything went wrong. They were in it throughout, but in the end, not a single thing would go their way. They lost. Well, New Orleans Saints: welcome to your tape.
In what was a boring, poorly officiated, Randy Gregory mistake ridden affair, the Cowboys pulled one out of their ass, defeating the Saints 13-10. I have been preaching “winning ugly is still winning” with the Eagles all year long. The Cowboys just told me to hold my beer.
Despite the marquee win for Dallas, nothing has changed here in Philadelphia. They still have to take care of business in their own match-ups, specifically in the division these next two weeks. If they string together wins for the first time all year, both the Eagles and Cowboys will end up 7-6 with three games left. Handle your shit, or scoreboard watching doesn’t matter.
If we can beat Colt McCoy (and I pray to every and any God that exists we will), the roles will have reversed for these two teams since their previous match-up. The Cowboys are now the top dog, they can bury us with a win. Everyone will expect them to, they’ve got the momentum. The Eagles on the other hand, can shake up the NFC East if they split the season series. It’s all about getting hot at the right time.
It’s like that scene in Fast and Furious when Paul Walker and Vin Diesel race for the first time. Paul Walker hits the Nos too early, so he gets a boost, but not enough to get him to the finish line. Meanwhile, Vin Diesel is like “ha! look at that amateur”. He hits the Nos and flies into first place right at the end. Except in this analogy, Paul Walker doesn’t die, he just loses to the Colts in two weeks.
Alright I’m done looking ahead. Just for the love God, beat Colt McCoy.
