Enough Is Enough, The Flyers Need A Change

What just happened? Where did the Flyers from yesterday go? It was like Wednesday night in Buffalo all over again. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?

The Flyers were embarrassed Saturday night in Toronto, 6-0. The Maple Leafs, just like the Buffalo Sabres did on Wednesday, hung 4 goals on a sloppy and sluggish Flyers team in the 1st period. This one, like Wednesday, was over early.

But, unlike in Buffalo, the Flyers showed no fight and no pushback. After giving up 4 goals in the 1st in Buffalo, the Flyers fought back with a good effort in the 2nd period. Something they used to build off with a stellar performance yesterday against the Rangers.

However, instead of building off their best all-around game to date yesterday, the Flyers reverted into old habits and laid an egg. Literally. For the 4th time this season, the Flyers were shutout. Tonight, however, was the first time they were shutout and were outshot.

In the 3 previous shutouts, the Flyers out-played and outshot their opponent. Tonight, the Maple Leafs took it too a life-support Flyers team.

I can drive deep into every little thing. However, I don’t have the time and patience to write a book on what happened.

The Flyers panic button is turned on so quick and it shows. They do one thing wrong and they play like its World War III. This team needs change, nothing else.

The Flyers need something to happen to change the dynamic of this team and organization. I will leave you with this. Look at these coaches and what they did replacing coaches mid-season…

Dan Bylsma = 18-3-4 Stanley Cup Champion (same season)

Mike Johnson = 33-16-5 Stanley Cup Champion (same season)

Bruce Cassidy = 18-8-1

Change does work. However, if you wait to late, it is worthless.

Result : Flyers 0 – Maple Leafs 6, LOSS

Record : 10 – 11 – 2

Next Game : Ottawa Senators, Philadelphia PA, NBCSports Philadelphia 7:00pm
