Drew Hanlen Tweets That Markelle Fultz Is “Still Not Healthy”

In last night’s absolutely embarrassing blowout loss to the Nets, Markelle Fultz when viral for his brick of a three pointer:

After that mishap, Drew Hanlen took to Twitter to defend his client:

You know who else isn’t healthy? ME. I’m not healthy mentally because I keep having to sit through these head scratching Sixers defeats. I cannot mentally handle a weekend in which Joel Embiid drops 39 en route to a sizable win over the Pistons. Then, they go out the next night and turn the ball over 28 times against the Nets in a loss. That level of up and down play is a glaring sign of mediocrity. It’s also a glaring sign I am getting dangerously close to a brain aneurysm.

Seriously, these runs the Sixers allow other teams to go on in the third quarter stress me out more than any job or bill ever could. At least the Eagles have the courtesy to only stress me out once a week. The Sixers do it every other night, sometimes back to back nights.

As for Fultz, his shot going viral was a bad look, but things have been better. It feels as if in this last week, he has looked more confident. He is running the offense with better command and attacking the rim confidently. The shot still has a long way to go, but we’ve at least seen flashes.

All the questions about Fultz’ shot are viable. Having two first overall picks who cannot shoot a basketball seems like it could be a serious problem. Unfortunately, it’s only the third biggest problem the team has right now:

  1. Dario has been bad and not good. Watching him is like watching a young calf who has just been born and doesn’t fully grasp how to gain full function of their hind legs. Now, put that calf in an NBA starting lineup. That’s Dario.
  2. The bench is just JJ Redick, who’s actually a starter, running off screens to try to get this team an open jump shot. That’s the extent of bench production from this roster.
  3. Your point guards have played basketball their entire lives and cannot shoot a jump shot.

Brettt Brown, for the sake of my sanity and blood pressure, please mold this glorified AAU team into a legitimate Eastern Conference contender.
