The Sky Isn’t Falling Anymore, The World Just Ended
Houston, we have a problem. Doug and Carson, the sky might not have been falling last week. But, the world just ended today after the Philadelphia Eagles performance against the Minnesota Vikings.
You can say what you want about this Eagles team. However, to pin this on one direct person is wrong and unjust. This was a team effort that led to the dismal performance today.
It all started with the first three plays of the game by the Vikings. Kurt Cousins went right after everybody’s favorite cornerback, Jalen Mills. Three plays, three off coverages, three easy receptions to a Vikings receiver. More to come from Mr. Mills later.
Then, Vikings Dan Bailey would make 1 of 3 field goals before Eagles Jake Elliott would make one of his own. But, this is where the game went downhill.
Carson Wentz would lose a strip fumble to Linval Joseph. Who would return it 64 yards for a touchdown. Poor blocking by the offensive line was one of the dooms for the Eagles.
Michael Bennett thought he sacked Cousins on 2nd down. But, if you have watched the NFL this season, they are calling anything roughing the passer. Bennett sacked Cousins. But, somehow in the eyes referee Walt Coleman, it was roughing the passer. You be the judge…

Horrible half by the Eagles filled with turnovers, penalties, and poor defensive coverage.
The Eagles came out hot and filling on the opening position of 2nd half. However, I think you know where this is going. On the Vikings 5-yard line, Ajayi just dropped the ball. Ajayi hit the hole and before a Viking could touch him, he just dropped the ball. Huge blow after a great drive.
Then, remember I said Mr. Mills would be back. Well, on the first Vikings play after the fumble, Mills got burnt by Adam Thielen for 68 yards. Mills can’t blame anybody but himself for the plays he made today. But, wait their is more from Mills? Why yes. Yes, there is.
After stopping the Vikings by a Mills break-up, Thielen tried to instigate Mills into a personal foul after the play penalty. Philadelphia Eagles defense captain, Fletcher Cox, would push Mills out of the way towards the bench and Mills lost it. Mills and Cox would have words before Cox just walking away.
Last week, defensive coordinator, Jim Schwartz, told the media he and the whole defense was still behind Mills. Have to believe that is he said she said after the actions of Mills when talking with Cox.
I, for one, would not mind if Fletcher Cox ate Jalen Mills whole. pic.twitter.com/hhdhhYxW72

The Eagles would score on their next two possessions. However, their fight back into the game was being halted every time by a turnover, punt, or a penalty.
Doug Pederson would get in on the blunders next. After a clear catch by Stefon Diggs, Pederson would challenge the play. Yes, Pederson would challenge a clear catch. Post-game, Pederson said he didn’t see Diggs first foot come down and his third step was out-of-bounds. Well, Doug. Diggs third step was also in-bounds. Poor challenge in a 2nd half of a tight game already down a time-out.
Zach Ertz would make a wonderful touchdown catch with 1:09 remaining in the game. The Eagles would then fail on their on-side kick.
The Philadelphia Eagles put out a piss-poor effort against the team they embarrassed in the NFC Championship Game last season.
A very embarrassing loss and potential end to the Eagles season. Eagles have a short week and face the Giants on Thursday Night Football. All hope isn’t lost as the Eagles could still win a weak NFC East. But, for Super Bowl hopes of a repeat?
Well, they left with the Vikings today.
