The Back Up Quarterback Who Beat Tom Brady In The Super Bowl Is Our Starter Again and We Should Be Okay With It

It is official. Nick Foles will be starting the season as QB1 for your Philadelphia Eagles. The Super Bowl MVP will see a familiar team when Atlanta comes to town.  Or at least, Ian Rapoport, who is always wrong about the Eagles believes so.

Foles has been bad and not good this preseason but I could care less.. Honestly, even if he was slinging it like he was in the NFC Championship, I would say the same thing. Its preseason. Preseason has always been about keeping it simple and hoping Josh Adams makes the team. If Nicky Franchise comes out and throws two interceptions and no touchdowns on Thursday then okay, I’ll be concerned with the Wentz timetable.

Foles starting also means Carson gets an extra week of rest at the very least, probably a few weeks. For Wentz, the key is shortening the season and giving the knee extra rehab time. A shortened season would be absolutely huge to ease back into the swing of things. The guy should be 147% healthy before sniffing the field. September is the easiest month of the schedule. If you want him back Week 3 against the Colts so he gets 17 extra days, that’s fine. It would make sense timeframe wise. If you don’t want him to touch the field until October, that’s alright too. Regardless, let’s rock with Foles for awhile. He’ll be fine.

If you think Doug is gonna be happy with the media then you got another thing coming. Angry Doug is my new favorite Doug and he is going to chew the media out for releasing this information before he made the decision. At least Nick Saban made sure Doug wouldn’t be the biggest dickhead coach when it comes to quarterback controversies.
