You guy for one summertime ice cream come and…

I’m disappointed that Lebron didn’t come but I’m more disappointed that the hunt is over. Every year, we build NBA Free Agency into this captivating event that creates a scene of absolute madness on social media. Then, soon after it begins, it’s over. It’s like going to the bar. You make plans all week, you pregame before you go and then just like that, the night is over. That’s NBA free agency. Paul George is returning, Lebron is a Laker…it’s 2am and the Sixers are going home alone.
I’ve said it in recent posts and I’ll say it again: this isn’t the end of the Sixers, it’s really their beginning. I am not sure how the Lakers are an attractive roster to join but I know the Sixers are. With Lebron on the third best team in the west, we have set up a matchup of Mayweather-Pacquiao level proportions between the Celtics and the Sixers.
The Sixers are now the second best team in the Eastern Conference. If they play their cards right, they can still be the best. Tonight, is not the end of the road. Kawhi will be a free agent, he can also be traded for. Giannis will be a free agent. There will be a day where Lebron isn’t the face of the NBA. There will be a day when Golden State runs out of money. Today is not that day. But when it is, the Sixers will be waiting in the wings. Our time is coming. If the Eagles have taught me anything, it’s that it all works out in the end. This time is no different.
