The Sixers Are Bringing Kevin Knox Back For A Second Workout And That Seems Like Some Solid Foreshadowing

Well it’s getting to be about crunch time for Brett Brown and whoever else is running the Sixers with the draft coming up on Thursday night. What has got people’s juices flowing this year more than others is the amount of unknowns still floating around. There are a lot of teams at the top of the draft who are notorious for fucking things up and there aren’t many prospects that are absolute locks. For the Sixers, there is still a great deal of unknowns because picking 10th overall is a bit of a grey area (we also don’t have a GM and that seems slightly problematic). When picking deep into the lottery, a lot of the surefire guys on your big board are wiped away before you can get your hands on them (unless you make a trade). It jmay come down to who they like the best and is still available. Today, I think we got a pretty good idea of what the Sixers plan may be:

You probably don’t invite a guy back for a second workout two days before the draft unless you want to jump his bones. Here’s a quick YouTube recap of his skill set:

I would like to officially state, I AM NOT SOLD. Knox has a lot of length, athleticism and he’s got a great shooting motion. There seems to be a plethora of prototypical “3 and D” guys pouring into the league. Is Knox similar to Jayson Tatum? No, he’s not as good. I am not sure he is even a better prospect than Michael Porter Jr. or Mikal Bridges, who share similar traits. I think my biggest complaint with Knox, and a lot of guys in this draft, is that they struggle beating guys off the dribble and creating their own shot. It was literally the first weakness they brought up for Knox and it is the biggest weakness the Sixers already have as a team. I think Shamus accurately described how scouting should be handled in the 76ers front office:

I’m about three more AAU highlight videos away from declaring Collin Sexton as my favorite prospect just because I know he can dribble past a defender and then also make a layup near a defender.

I am not totally down on Kevin Knox. I think a lot of guys in this draft, including Knox, have a ton of upside. But, it has been an uphill battle to determine which one is most likely to pan out.

I’ve always been in on Mikal Bridges, last week I was ready to trade up for Luka Doncic, and this week I talked myself into Collin Sexton. At this point, I’ll settle for any player who hasn’t signed with fucking PUMA.
