Joel Embiid Is Showing Up On South Street to Dunk on Random Average Philadelphians
Well, we are stuck with the fourth rendition of the Cavs losing in 5 to the Warriors, so here in Philadelphia, we don’t have much to look forward to for awhile. The 76ers offseason has been in full swing for awhile, so Joel Embiid has gotten a little restless. When he’s not tweeting about Aron Baynes, Embiid is now showing up to the park just off South Street to play pick up games with random 6 foot white guys with little to no athleticism. It’s going exactly how you’d expect it to go:

Imagine showing up to play pick up with your work buddies and Joel Embiid goes full And 1 Mixtape, throws it off your head, and dunks it.

If you remember, this isn’t the first time JoJo has taken to the Philadelphia streets. He went full Rocky last summer and was running around the block in the middle of the summer night. Aside from Rocky himself running up the Art Museum steps, Meek being bailed out of jail and going straight to the Sixers game, Embiid playing basketball on a South Street playground is as Philly as it gets.
There’s gonna be a small percentage of people, the same people who were upset Embiid was on stage with Meek, who hate this because he may get hurt in a playground pick-up game. Grow up. If I were dropped in a foreign country, there is no way I could pick up the culture as fast as “The Process” has. I’ve been alive 23 years and no athlete in Philly history has quite GOT Philadelphia quite like Embiid. He has a phenomenal sense of humor, but his jokes don’t compromise his desire to better this franchise. I never want Embiid stories in Philadelphia to stop. Because of that: this thought is permanently stuck in the back of my head:

I just can’t imagine Sixers basketball with Joel Embiid playing for another NBA team. That’s how “Philly” he has become.
Speaking of dunking, I’d qualify this as pretty promising:
