Playoffs Are Back In The City Of Brotherly Love. Well, sort of…
Its not another Eagles Super Bowl run just yet. Its not the return of the Process to the playoffs already.
No.
Its the Flyers minor league affiliate, Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
The Phantoms are in the Eastern Conference Finals of the Calder Cup playoffs. How did the city of Brotherly Love miss first two rounds?
Well, ever since the Phantoms moved to Adirondack, the coverage of Phantoms hockey in Philadelphia has been non-existent. With the Phantoms moving back to Allentown, coverage has came back a little. But, with the local TV provider as the Phantoms #1 sponsor, it has been hard for Comcast to broadcast their games.
However, with NBCSports Philadelphia only having the Phillies to broadcast now until the return of Eagles Football. They have agreed to broadcast the Phantoms home games in the Eastern Conference Finals of the Calder Cup Playoffs.
Games 3, 4, & 5 will be broadcasted locally on NBCSports Philadelphia +. Game 3 is tonight at 7:00pm EST. Game 4 is Friday at 7:00pm. And, Game 5 is Saturday at 7:00pm.
Its not any of the five major Philadelphia teams. But, the Phantoms were apart of the Philadelphia complex for the better part of 15 years.
Lets get on the Phantoms bandwagon and Rally The Valley.
Remember, some of these Phantoms are future Flyers. Some will be on the Flyers next year. Great time to get to know them and get your first look at some future Flyers if you haven’t made it up to Allentown already.
