Dario Saric and His Reactions Are a Croatian National Treasure
The best part about the Eagles last year (aside from the fact that they were really fucking good) was how likable each and every one of them was. It was so fun to root for that group of guys every Sunday. Now, as we hunker down for the NBA playoffs, our lovable, young Sixers are following suit.
The Sixers handled the Knicks from start to finish on Wednesday night, winning their 8th straight, despite Markelle Fultz trying to murder Joel Embiid’s face. In Embiid’s absence, Dario Saric shouldered the load with a line of 26 PTS/14 REBS/ 5 AST.
Don’t take this the wrong way, but I love that Embiid being out gives Saric the chance to showcase his true value on the basketball court and in our hearts. Late in the 4th quarter, as Saric collected his seemingly 80th offensive board, Marc Zumoff exclaimed, “if everyone worked as hard as Dario Saric, there would be no need for bosses”. He’s right, that dude works his ass off. He fights tooth and nail for every point and board he collects and the hustle plays always add up. The perfect highlight of this came right here:

Not only was it a phenomenal assist, but it led to another incredible Dario celebration:

There’s just something about his face, his personality, his broken English and the way he plays that just makes ya love him. The passion he is playing with and he exhibits on that play is the passion I watch the Sixers with on my couch. It’s the passion I have with this team and their playoff push.
Best part about last nights Dario celebration, is that it wasn’t even the best of the week. Here’s how The Homie felt about having Fultz back:

Man, WTF was that? Lol, I love this guy. I love this team. I love Philadelphia being good at sports.
