Could The Eagles Be Putting Together The NFL’s Best Defense In Recent History? Ndamukong Suh Watch

Dream team? Those words will be always forever with the 2011 Eagles team because of Vince Young.

But, sorry Vince Young, that Eagles team was far from a dream team. However, could news surfacing lead to an actual dream team in Philly?

With news surfacing in Miami, from ESPN & the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are considering releasing Ndamukong Suh. Suh, who is one of the elite DTs in the league, has a history with the Eagles.

First, he played under defensive coordinator, Jim Schwartz, in Detroit. When in Detroit, Suh made a name for himself, eventually earning the huge contract from the Dolphins. Suh’s numbers with the Lions were 36 sacks, 181 tackles, & 1 interception in 78 games. Suh was also an all-pro in all 4 seasons under Schwartz in Detroit.

Second, according to Eagles assistant defensive line coach Chris Wilson, Suh told him during the Eagles & Dolphins joint practice in August, that he would play for the Eagles for free. Wilson went on to say this from his recollection with his talk with Suh. “Wilson said Suh told him, The way y’all practice is unbelievable. I don’t care about money at this point—I think I want to play with y’all next year for free.”

Now that is all he said she said. By the tone, you can think it was clearly in a joking matter. However, with Suh getting paid from his guaranteed money in 2018 from the Dolphins. If he were to be released. Would he consider signing here for the veteran minimum and essentially play for free?

A question that may be answered in the coming days with a decision having to be made by the Dolphins on Suh before March 19, the day Suh’s 1st of many bonuses kick in. And it is not a small one. Its $8,500,000.

So, if Suh gets released and signs here. Do the Eagles have the real dream team on their hands?

I don’t know. But, if he does, that will probably be the greatest defense in NFL history.
